Holy Eucharist

In September we resumed our usual worship schedule with services of Holy Eucharist at 8am & 10am in the church and 5:30pm outside when the weather permits. Our 8am service can be joined on Zoom or Facebook Live if you are unable to join us in person.

At this time to allow for congregational singing masks are required for everyone at our 10am service regardless of vaccination status, at our 8am & 5:30pm services masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated.

We also have resumed our weekday Eucharist on Wednesday mornings at 9:30. With no singing at this service masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated. Please note that there will be no Wednesday service on 10/13.

At the beginning of the pandemic we began to gather together online every evening to close our day in prayer with a service of Compline. Compline is a beautiful and brief service descending from the night prayers said before bed at the end of the monastic round of daily prayer. The service is under ten minutes long and includes a confession of sins, a recitation of a psalm, a short reading from scripture, versicles and responses, the Lord's Prayer, collects which ask for God's protection during the night to come along with free intercessions and thanksgivings, and the canticle Nunc dimittis.

In September we moved to offering Compline on Wednesday evenings at 8pm on Zoom and our Facebook page. Please be in touch with Fr. Patrick (patrick@stjohnsbarrington.org) for the Zoom invite information.
