Every evening at 8pm you are invited to join us as we close our day in prayer. Compline is a beatuiful and brief service descending from the night prayers said before bed at the end of the monastic round of daily prayer. The service is under ten minutes long and includes a confession of sins, a recitation of a psalm, a short reading from scripture, versicles and responses, the Lord's Prayer, collects which ask for God's protection during the night to come along with free intercessions and thanksgivings, and the canticle Nunc dimittis.
Compline is streamed live every night on our Facebook page. On Tuesday & Thursday you can also join us on for this service on Zoom, please be in touch with Fr. Patrick (email@example.com) for the Zoom invite information.
Morning & Evening Prayer on Sundays
As we move back to offering only online services for the coming weeks we invite you to join us on Zoom or our Facebook Page on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 for Morning Prayer and 5:30pm for Evening Prayer. A bulletin for our service, along with the Zoom login info, is sent out as part of our Weekly E-blast on Thursdays, you can sign up for that here.
Morning Prayer consists of a few sung hymns, readings from scripture, a sermon, and prayers from the Book of Common Prayer.
Evening Prayer is similar to Morning Prayer in structure.
Holy Eucharist on Sundays
For the coming Sundays we will refraining from offering in person services. As the numbers around COVID-19 are trending dangerously upwards we recognize the importance of doing our part in curbing the spread of this virus. Taking this step, combined with following all the guidelines and recommendations around this virus are concrete and powerful ways we are able to follow Jesus' command that we love our neighbors as ourselves and by doing so that we love our God with all our heart, soul and mind.
We will certainly miss gathering together in person but look forward to doing so again when we can do so safely and responsibly.
